Yuri Arcurs covering Stock, Microstock and "free"

Cool free images on PeopleImages.com, the new ultimate microstock outlet of Yuri Arcurs.

First some rumors, then silence, a few years passing by and now the big bang: Yuri Arcurs launches his own microstock site PeopleImages.com. Right upfront: it is awesome.

In my humble opinion the features and the user experience of his new baby as well as his sales model make all other microstock sites blush (and they are not bad, are they?) The licensing options are a dream: Besides the standard you find Time Exclusive Licenses, Late Licenses, 99% Buyout License. Wonderful.

The old argument about microstock photos needing more retouching than stock photos is falling apart as well, with his custom retouching service.
Which is just one thing that makes me wonder, is this really a microstock site? I checked some good photos and the most expensive non-exclusive license (late license) can cost around US$3000,-. That does not feel so... micro.

I personally think that with this website Yuri Arcurs is navigating the space between traditional stock and modern microstock, combining the advantages of both worlds.

The only thing I really don’t like: Contribution to the sites collection is by invitation only. It’s not an agency. So shooters like myself can’t submit. Does Yuri make up for that? Yes, big time. And this is the part where I start talking about "free".

On the new site Arcurs is giving away some of his microstock jewels for free. You can use them, even in your commercial projects. The latest add on to this free collection is not really typical for his genre. Ever needed a fancy photo of planet earth, the moon surface or the milky way for your Photoshop composite? Yuri’s team has spend hundreds of hours retouching photos of NASA until they are looking nothing short of breathtaking spectacular. And yes, they are free, too. So it’s absolutely worth a visit:

Thanks a ton, Yuri Arcurs!
I wish you good light!
